Social Club

The Scene : This was the third and last bar of the first night of 'The Barfly Social Club'. The three of us that made it through the margarita's at the Rio Grande and the many miscellaneous drinks at The Park Tavern have definitely had a lot to drink by this point. Barricuda's is right across the street from The Park Tavern, which is one of our usual hangouts. It's one of the many in town we've all looked at and wondered what it was like on the inside, but never had the occasion to find out, until now...

The Buzz From The Flies

Electric plastic flowers to my right, on the corner of the bar. Across the bar, a grey bearded cowboy hat wearin' 60ish man who makes me wonder why, what. To the left, a 20 something girl conversing with a 50 something man about "What Grandma said". Indigo girls on the box. good friends next to me - just the right place for it. Chillum. Ok - so the journal is now stuck to the bar. That's Barricuda's. - FireFly

Wine specials - not beer. Draft selection is weak, but they've got plenty-o-liquor. Not a singles scene (unless you're 55, out of work, and a cheap wino) Not bad, it makes up 4 character with a very luminous atmosphere. Locals at the bar, newbies in the outskirts. Intimate, yet communal with the pool room and random collection of boozers. Righteous bartender this night...down to earth. If you've got the blues...stop by and revel in your problems with those similar... and drink 'em away. Quaint, rustic, creatively lit. Barricuda's - food til 1am (Burger's and Apps) Varying selection on menu until 10:30! The same cheesy mid 80's receiver I got when I was 16 is here supporting those multi-level lavender, peach, yellow, bluish, redish, green stemmed electric tulips. Wish you were here, all. - FireFly (again)

So this is why we started this club - to find places like this. Holes - lost - dark. "Fire on the Mountain" from the box now. Don't miss the display cases with the array of available's on the way to the bathroom. Oh-yes. Christmas town in the 3 story display case - twisty.
