Mercury Café

The Scene : It didn't take much to imagine you were really sitting in a café on the planet closest the sun when we flew to The Mercury cafe on this hot July evening. It was HOT, I'm telling you. July fourth had come and gone and the fun of that continued in the form of a large and interesting mix of new members and the original set. From the uniqueness of the Mercury we flew to the Irishness that is Fado's. Flyin' fun in the hot Denver summer nights...

The Buzz From The Flies

Cool ceilings, good live music. People are literally dancing on the ceiling!! - FaeryDustFly

Close to home. A skip to your right to buy some crack, a skip to your left you're downtown. Kids swinging and dancin and shaken their money makers. "I am still waiting for my mom to pick me up in the mini-van." Great food and spirits. - UncleFly

A little Mercury to heat things up. No Air conditioning. But, good drinks & swing dancing on the 2nd floor. Well done for a cafe full of fun. Remember "The Future Presidents" 1st played here when they moved into town. Please give your respects. - ButtonFly

Still trying to come up with a name for myself. It will come to me when I least suspect it. Mercury Cafe - cool atmosphere, live music to chill with (with the exception of the first acoustic trio - what is God's name was that? Where's the poetry reader?) A possible future barfly member mentioned how great it was to be able to talk using our "inside" voices rather than using that usual barshout technique. Swing dancing is a bit passé, but the cafe is the place to be to have some drinks and enjoy being with the other fly brothers and sisters. - The member to subsequently be called "SmorFly" (for now anyway)

This place is particularly hard to describe. It's definitely all cool eclectic jazzy & hippie. Goodish food, dank drinks, lots of eye candy from what's on the walls to the cuties walkin' about. A bunch of swing kids upstairs - can hear the pounding of the jumpin', jivin', and wailin' going on up there. Cool & casual, despite the heat. - FireFly

I like this place. Food is good. The ceiling moves w/the dancers above, but it is unfortunate the waitress sucks!!! Our club is going to make this place money & she's complaining about it!. We are all sober still. Great atmosphere, however. Swing girls were cute! - TikiFly
