Rio Grande

The Scene : The Rio Grande was the first bar we went to as 'The Club'. It is here that it first became a real thing. We were all fledgling writers, not really sure where this was going to go, still early in the evolution. All we knew was, we were in it for the adventure and the fun, and we were off to a great start.... From here, we found our way to The Park Tavern, a favorite of the early members, before flying off to another new place, Barricuda's.

The atmosphere is intoxicating as well as the strong margs. A lot of pretty boys & hoochies, not really my style, but after 3 margs I probably could care less. Not somewhere I'd like to spend a weekend night, but since it closes @ 10pm, it's a great place to tie a few on before bigger and better bars. - Brandi

There's no doubt the margaritas are stiff, but so was I !!! The impressive collection of ladies here is uncommon. Feel free to come stoned...dim lights, cold beverages, ample space/seating. Good to hang with the homeys....or go hunting at the bar for honeys. This is a happy hour bar... Mostly local 20-30s professionals wearing leather and talkin' on cell phones... Just like all or most (I should say) Denver bars there are more girls here than guys. Fuck it. The margaritas were perfect and the atmosphere is perfect for our group. The girls that are here are fine, though. - PornFly

Our take on this bar ~ as of 9:36 pm 1/13/2000. Well - the 'ritas are extremely strong so sooner or later everyone is beautiful...But - honestly, the boys at the next table look just like the pop group "The Backstreet Boys". Should I ask them to give us they're autographs? - Melinda and Lisa

Since everyone looks good after a margarita or twelve, I was checking out the boys while walking by their table and skid about eight feet. Take note; this hardwood floor is slick!!! - AJ
