The
Scene : It
was a cold and stormy night. Well, maybe it wasn't that stormy, but it was
cold, colder than an arctic coyote's nose, and it had been for several days
in a row. For this reason we started this night's flight at the Valverde
Yacht Club, where we could at least hope to pretend it was warm and tropical
outside. From here, we flew off to The Bank (formerly
the York St. Cafe), where they were having
their opening night festivities. We had a big swarm this night, and the
buzziness reached the usual high level.

Carpet on the walls is groovy. This place looked so sketchy from the outside, I was afraid to come in. Inside, we are greeted by the cat. I like the place..... - The fly swarm increases every time we go out. Good to see. Umbrellas on the ceiling and the sunken bar create a funky atmosphere - SoulFly

only the barflies and 4 others. Good juke box selection. 2 pool tables.
Not a wide selection of top shelf alcohol, but there is Fat Tire on tap.

So all I noticed was the short bar and the fuzzy walls. I must admit I feel comfortable with soft walls.... But admit it reminds me of my days behind bars!! .. I am a new fly tonight! Liquid Cocaine was the shot. Slow bar, only flies, 4 others and a husky. (A real dog. - No one in this group) Knee-high bar could cause problems on a more energetic night. Santana on the Juke Box ALL NIGHT. Too much of a good thing. - CaughtInMyFly
For a hole in the
wall I am impressed. They even have a mascot Valverde Kitty, they found
her in the stands of mile high. Cheap beer and good music. Sea shell falling
from music. Sea shell falling from the sky and boats in the back. Oh ah

Well, this is our first time to this bar and to this club of course. So,
we are here at the yacht club by the sea. Not the sea the ocean by the
Yacht Club Valverde. We like the shells on the ceiling and the fish. The
music keeps the flys alive. We like the boats in the yacht club I take
it that you will. People make places. As long as were together the night
