Week 104 - Jan. 10, 2002

That's right, all! As of this week, it'll be two fantastic years as the swarm that we are!! Just crazy, don't you think??? Over the last 104 weeks, we've been to (& written about) over 160 bars in Denver, and seen some pretty wacky times. Remember the lounge troll playin' the keys at Charlie Browns and the kilts at the Candlelight? Crazy Train at Armida's and the muchachos at Tequila Le Club? The scary butch patrons of the Denver Detour and the horse pole at BJ's Carousel? How about the other world that is the Proof of the Pudding and the zoo of Zu? Oh - and who can forget The Bull at the Grizzly?

Yep - it's been an absolute ton of fun. Unfortunately, and it really pains me to say this, the times, they are a changin'. I've gotta be straight with you. I need a sabbatical, a little hiatus, a break. The club, itself needs a momentum change, anyway, so I, like any good coach, am calling a time-out. Besides, we only have a few more cool bars left before we start really repeating a lot or doing dive after dive after dive. This will give me some time to put together a web-site that is actually functional and useful to anyone who knows about it, time to put together some marketing materials so we can keep the membership growing and get the bars fully on board, and, most importantly, time to find some help. I figure that's a few months worth or so. Consider the prototype testing a success and very educational, and now it's time to make some design changes before we put out the final product. (sorry for the engineer talk)

In the meantime, we'll keep the web-site up and running, and keep the mail-lists active and usable. We'll still use all of that to communicate the miscellaneous fun that we'll still be having together. We'll probably even still get together once every couple of weeks or every month or so to hit those few other cool bars that are still out there un-done. And, of course we've got this week's 2-year anniversary to have.

Soooooo. We'll fly down the home-stretch by going, this week, to that new place downtown that we keep getting too loaded to fly to, Lime. It's in the spot that used to be the Champion Brewery, at 1424 Larimer. Since there are a few of us with early plans, we'll meet up at 9ish or so. I really, really hope a lot of you can make it, especially since it may be a little while before we get back in the game again.
